Statement
Leona
Here stands Leona, an image of a single-minded greed. Her giant
mouth still jaws at the air despite her engorged belly –
evidence of a recent feast. She has the taloned foot of a bird-of-prey.
Her avarice tears apart what others must rebuild.
Organic Catastrophe
Familiar objects, distorted, out of context – an arm, a wing,
a heart – are impaled in a small, bleak forest. This piece
is an apocalyptic vision of the havoc we have and will continue
to wreak on our environment if we do not take care.
