Statement
In creating this sculpture, I tried to consider the theme of the
conference and to create a sculpture that would fit the idea of
"torn societies."
This sculpture is a pair of hands, knitting. The hands are crudely
constructed. They are contrasting colors to represent different
people or cultures. But they are still capable of creating something
strong and beautiful. These hands are "knitting" together
new forms. These hands are at once personal they represent
individual potential and also symbolic of different types
of people coming together to create a better world.
