Bodell's career focuses on the integration of emerging contemporary artists and underrepresented artists such as those with disabilities, in galleries and art programs in New York City and New England. She has worked with numerous community-based organizations that promote social change, both locally and nationally.

For 20 years, Margaret Bodell's, work as an art entrepreneur, gallery owner, art program developer, and exhibition curator has initiated numerous projects that integrate emerging contemporary artists and underrepresented artists such as those with disabilities. Bodell has launched may emerging artit's careers at Margaret Bodell Gallery in NYC's East Village and she is known for pioneering arts programs, artist residencies, and social venture businesses throughout New York and New England.
