Galerie D’Este, a Montreal contemporary art gallery, boasts one of the largest and most beautifully designed exhibition spaces in the city. Located on Greene Avenue in the heart of Westmount, a five minute drive from the downtown core and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the gallery is easily accessible to residents as well as to visitors.

Open since May 1st, 2006 the gallerys mission has been to promote the best Quebec, Canadian and international contemporary artists. The gallery seeks artists who possess great artistic skill and a strong aptitude for innovation. Prestigious businesses such as Loto-Quebec, the Royal Bank of Canada and Cirque du Soleil have recently acquired works from the gallery.

Galerie D’Este’s artists include Jean-Pierre Ruel, Angela Grossmann, Sophie De Francesca, Michel Beaucage, Zhang He, Paul Bourgault and Ángel Mateo Charris, amongst others. The gallery also has a remarkable group of works by Canadian painter Jean-Paul Jérôme, a founding member of the Plasticiens movement, and a series of sculptures by Salvador Dali.

Galerie D’Este is named in honour of Isabelle d’Este (1474-1539), a member of the well-know family of Renaissance art patrons.

Galerie D’Este was founded with the aim of promoting the careers of our artists and selling their work. In 2008 the gallery will be participating in a variety of prominent Canadian, American and European art fairs.

Galerie D’Este is a member of AGAC (Association des galeries d'art contemporain) a collective of Canadian art galleries.
